Ta-Ha Publishers

Ta-Ha Publishers was founded in March 1980 by husband and wife team, Afsar Siddiqui and Dr Jamal-un-Nisa Rafai. Despite being successful in their own respective fields, they felt they could do more by working together and for the sake of Allah to further the understanding and love of Islam among English speaking Muslims. So the idea was born in the late 70s to found an independent publishing house. The name that they settled upon was Ta-Ha, because of the story that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab turned to Islam after hearing verses from Surah Ta-Ha.

The first small booklets were printed in 1980, illustrated by Afsar and typeset by hand, retailing for 40p. Dr Jamal-un-Nisa compiled a series of quiz books for children and later wrote the first word-by word English translation of six parts of the Qur’an. Since then, Ta-Ha has published over 400 titles on a range of subjects that are distributed all over the world.

Author Biography

Al-Ahkam As-Sultaniyyah is both the single most comprehensive account of the workings of Islamic governance and equally a highly influential theoretical outline of the nature of that governance. It is also as if it were a snapshot of the inner workings of Abbasid power at its height. Woven throughout it are accounts of the first community of Islam and the judgements of the early scholars of the salaf which are the book’s lifeblood

and its light.

Far from being just a book for academics, this gives the lay reader an inspiring insight into what a society under Islamic governance looks like.

Why you will want to buy this

book:

» If you are a

student

of

Islamic studies.

» If you want a

snapshot

of

what society looks like under Islamic governance.

» If you want an idea of how

comprehensive

Islam is in covering human behaviour, rather than just being a

collection of rules we need to personally apply in our lives.

» This will renew your

perspective

on how

perfect

a way of life Islam is.

Author Biography

Everything in the universe

seems to know its natural form and function, except human beings, who seem to

be confused on both counts. This is evident because we see harmony and peace in

every sphere of existence except those that the human occupies.

So what is our natural pattern?

What is our role? How do we find out?

This book makes it clear that

submission and worship are organic and inevitable, and it is through these that

we will become truly human, and rise from the self-serving collective that we seem

to have become.

Why you will want to buy this

book:

» It will force you

rethink

what your role and purpose is on earth.

» It will

open your perspective

on “religion” as distinct from worship.

» It will

dispel your ideas

that religion is a set of rules that must be adhered to, and more a perspective

through which reality can be understood.

» A

Author Biography

This book helps children make sense of

their experience following the death of a sibling, and offers a way of

honouring their memory and celebrating their life. It helps the child to

understand more about their thoughts and feelings by answering some of the

questions they may have, and affords a springboard for discussion and discovery

which will aid parents in understanding aspects of their child’s world, their

behaviour and needs.

As children work through the book they

will learn about themselves, about life and the Islamic perspective of death.

In turn, this will insha’Allah, help them to grow and strengthen from their

experience.

"I found this to be an emotional but richly resourced book that will benefit any Islamic family looking for support and guidance...Although the intention of the book is to deal with the loss of a sibling, the activities and suggestions will surely help young children through any personal loss of a loved one because it promises the reader that no matter how sad they feel now, they will eventually feel better."

The Noble Qur'an: A New Rendering of its Meaning in English needs no introduction. Now in its third edition, its reviews speak for themselves:\n\"This new translation of the Qur'an immediately outdates all the others in the English-speaking world. the result of over twenty-five years of detailed study of the Qur'anic text, the Bewley translation has the advantage of high quality, naturally fluent English, along with the benifit of access to the traditional understanding of the text.\"\nDr. Y.
