The “Learning Islam 2” is planned for students in seventh grade or equivalent setting.
It is best for students who studied Islamic Studies through “Learning Islam 1” in sixth grade and “I Love Islam” series in their primary years 1st to 5th. This volume contains lessons that cover lively character building themes extracted from the Qur’an, Hadeeth, faith, Seerah and other authentic sources. The Islamic themes and concepts are presented in an exciting and creative manner. The book includes five units and around forty chapters and lessons.

Learning Islam workbook: Level 2 was designed for 7th grade students. It is recommended for students who studied the I Love Islam series during the 1st - 5th grades. This volume contains exercises that correlate with lessons in the Learning Islam textbook covering character building themes extracted from the Qur’an, ahadith, faith, sirah, and other authentic sources. The Islamic themes and concepts are presented in an exciting and creative manner.

What makes this translation unique is that it has been edited by kids, for kids. The author worked closely with a team of students—mostly in grades 2 to 5—to identify difficult words and replace them with simpler ones that carry the same meaning. For the words they couldn’t replace, explanations are provided in the glossary, along with the Arabic terms used throughout the book. With the help of qualified Islamic scholars, public school teachers, and professional editors, they ensured the translation is both accurate and accessible. 

Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a Canadian-Egyptian authority on interpreting the Quran. He was a member of the first team to translate the Ramadan night prayers (Tarawîḥ) live from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (2002–2005). Dr. Khattab memorized the entire Quran at a young age and later obtained a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation, with a chain of narrators going all the way back to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ. 

He received his Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Islamic Studies in English with Honours from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Translation. He lectured on Islam at Clemson University (OLLI Program, 2009–2010), served as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade beginning in 2003, and held the position of Muslim Chaplain at Brock University (2014–2016) and the University of Toronto Mississauga (2019–2021). 

Dr. Khattab is a member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. He has served as an imam in the U.S.A. and Canada since 2007. He is the translator of The Clear Quran (2015), author of The Clear Quran® for Kids (2020), The Clear Quran® Dictionary (2021), Shukran (an illustrated story for children, 2020), The Nation of Islam (2011), and Outfoxing Fox News (2017), and a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Muslim American History (2010).

This book consists of 8 units; each unit has 5 lessons and an activity, so that each book contains 40 lessons. The distribution of lessons is as follows.

There are two revisions, after the fourth and the eighth units (Do you remember?) Self-revision of the content of those units and this review includes the following:

1. The first conversation (with vocabulary)
2. Vocabulary exercises
3. Structure (with exercises)
4. Sounds and listening (with exercises)
5. Reading and writing (with exercises)
6. Activity

The book includes 100 words.
Exams, assessments, and revision include the following:

1. Listening and comprehension practice on three levels
   • Sentence recognition—Students see two sentences with a slight difference, they hear one and must recognize it.
2. Practice reviewing the majority of the vocabulary of the four units, defining them and sometimes writing them
3. Practice using language and finishing a conversation

Al-Quran Al-Kareem Maqdis is a translation learning method of word-by-word Al-Quran with every word and sentence is colored differently, in Arabic and English. Every word in the Quran was translated literally so that the reader could understand the meaning of every single word. It needs to be remembered that not all literal translation represents the exact meaning of the word since the Quran uses varied Arabic language style and sometimes metaphor. Accordingly, to understand the full or intended meaning of the word or the verse, Muhsin Khan's the Holy Quran Translation had been included in this edition. However, to comprehend more of the meaning of the Quran, reading the commentary of the Quran from trusted scholars would be necessary.
