Learning Islam Worksheets: Level 3 is for 8th grade students. It is recommended for students who studied the I Love Islam series in grades 1–5. This volume contains exercises that correlate with lessons in the Learning Islam textbook covering character building themes extracted from the Quran, ahadith, sirah, and other authentic sources. The Islamic themes and concepts are presented in an exciting and creative manner. Worksheet exercises include multiple choice, review questions, crosswords, and more.

This book includes activities for 5 units making up approximately 40 chapters and lessons. Units titles are as follows:

Each chapter includes outlines, relevant Islamic vocabulary, succinct and objective material, and relevant stories. To make the material meaningful and action-oriented, the book themes are supported by highlighted passages from the Quran and relevant ahadith of the Prophet (s). Additionally, the “Faith in Action” sections encourage students to use their new knowledge within their lives. Review sections also encourage students to consolidate their knowledge for further analysis and discussion. Pictures, illustrations, and brilliant layout design make studying Islam an exciting endeavor for students of this age group.

Learning Islam 3 is for students in eighth grade. It is best for students who studied Islamic Studies using Learning Islam 1 and 2 in grades 6 and 7 and the I Love Islam series in grades 1–5.

What makes this translation unique is that it has been edited by kids, for kids. The author worked closely with a team of students—mostly in grades 2 to 5—to identify difficult words and replace them with simpler ones that carry the same meaning. For the words they couldn’t replace, explanations are provided in the glossary, along with the Arabic terms used throughout the book. With the help of qualified Islamic scholars, public school teachers, and professional editors, they ensured the translation is both accurate and accessible. 

Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a Canadian-Egyptian authority on interpreting the Quran. He was a member of the first team to translate the Ramadan night prayers (Tarawîḥ) live from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (2002–2005). Dr. Khattab memorized the entire Quran at a young age and later obtained a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation, with a chain of narrators going all the way back to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ. 

He received his Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Islamic Studies in English with Honours from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Translation. He lectured on Islam at Clemson University (OLLI Program, 2009–2010), served as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade beginning in 2003, and held the position of Muslim Chaplain at Brock University (2014–2016) and the University of Toronto Mississauga (2019–2021). 

Dr. Khattab is a member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. He has served as an imam in the U.S.A. and Canada since 2007. He is the translator of The Clear Quran (2015), author of The Clear Quran® for Kids (2020), The Clear Quran® Dictionary (2021), Shukran (an illustrated story for children, 2020), The Nation of Islam (2011), and Outfoxing Fox News (2017), and a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Muslim American History (2010).

This book consists of 8 units; each unit has 5 lessons and an activity, so that each book contains 40 lessons. The distribution of lessons is as follows.

   • Sentence recognition—Students see two sentences with a slight difference, they hear one and must recognize it.
2. Practice reviewing the majority of the vocabulary of the four units, defining them and sometimes writing them
3. Practice using language and finishing a conversation

Al-Quran Al-Kareem Maqdis is a translation learning method of word-by-word Al-Quran with every word and sentence is colored differently, in Arabic and English. However, to comprehend more of the meaning of the Quran, reading the commentary of the Quran from trusted scholars would be necessary.
