The Epistle of Admonition: Advice to a Beloved One
Book

This short work is a translation of Imam al-Ghazali's al-Risala al-Waziyya, a concise personal note to a beloved brother and scholar who sought his advice. The Epistle of Admonition - as translated by Ahmad Shaist Khan - unveils al-Ghazali's sincere counsel not just to a beloved brother, but himself too.

The Imam writes:

"I warned my lower self (nafs) of their (lessons), which it believed in and accepted, verbally as well as intellectually. However, in practice it rejected their [warning]. So I said to it, 'Do you not believe that the Qur'an is a verbal admonition and a sincere counsellor? After all, it is the revealed word of Allah that can never be proven false from any angle.' It replied in the affirmative."

This edition includes al-Ghazali's Arabic text as well as a new English translation. This arrangement allows the English-speaking reader to get a taste of the author's unique style, while students of Arabic may peruse the Imam's masterful Arabic prose alongside this elegant English rendition.

Ramadan Revealed: A Practical Guide to Fasting & Devotion
Book

Ramadan Revealed: A Practical Guide to Fasting & Devotion, originally titled Aḥkām-e-Ramzan al-Mubarak in Urdu, succinctly outlines Ramadan’s layered purpose. Its author, Mawlānā ʿAbd al-ʿAlīm al-Siddīqī (translated by Tahir Mahmood Kiani), underscores the month’s balance: neither indulgence nor ascetic withdrawal, but a disciplined path toward God-consciousness.

Alongside clear rulings—covering moonsighting, who must fast, and acts that nullify fasting—the book stresses “moral fasting,” directing believers to guard not only the body but also speech and senses. Emphasis on tarāwīḥ (nightly prayers), iʿtikāf (seclusion in the mosque), and Laylat al-Qadr (the “Night of Great Value”) highlights the month’s spiritual pinnacle. Concluding with Eid al-Fitr, this concise work celebrates Ramadan as a source of purification, communal unity, and deep devotion.

Mawlānā Shāh Muḥammad ʿAbd al-ʿAlīm al-Ṣiddīqī

Mawlānā Shāh Muḥammad ʿAbd al-ʿAlīm al-Ṣiddīqī was an eminent Islamic scholar and missionary. Born in 1892 in Meerut, he completed Dars-e-Niẓāmī at sixteen and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1917. Continuing his religious studies in Makkah and Madinah, he traveled globally for nearly four decades, spreading Islam in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. His sincere approach, moral conviction, and deep piety drew thousands to Islam, revitalizing dormant communities. He confronted numerous challenges, organized educational conferences, built mosques, authored over a dozen works, and engaged in interfaith dialogue. He passed away on 22 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1372 A.H. in Madinah.

The Qur'an Code: A Study & Explanation of Themes from...
Book

From the acclaimed author of The Endless Banquet series, The Qur'an Code: A Study & Explanation of Themes from Juz 'Amma is a new reading guide to the best-known, most oft-recited, and most frequently memorized chapters of the Qur'an.

Memorization of Juz 'Amma is a rite of passage for Muslims around the world, often completed at a young age. However, the many layers of meanings within these short Surahs, and the extraordinary variety of connections between them, continue to reveal themselves even to the most knowledgeable and experienced scholars.

In The Qur'an Code: A Study & Explanation of Themes from Juz 'Amma, Shaykh Hamzah Abdul Malik guides the reader through an exploration of the 37 Surahs in this section. Each Surah is discussed in detail, with emphasis on the following:

  • The main theme of each Surah
  • The context of each Surah within the larger message of the Qur'an as well as within the Sīrah
  • The relationship of each Surah with the Surah that precedes it and with select other Surahs
  • A detailed discussion of key themes of different sections within each Surah, including line by line explanation of their meanings

This book is designed to help the reader develop greater understanding and a deeper connection to these Surahs, where reading, reciting, and listening to the recitation of Juz 'Amma becomes a much richer, more fulfilling, and more beneficial experience.

Written in easy-to-understand language, The Qur'an Code: Themes from Juz 'Amma aims to inspire a new generation of readers of the Qur’an, among Muslims who are comfortable reading and speaking English. This is a book designed to help you to rekindle and renew your love for the Qur’an, if Allah wills.

The Art of Learning
Book

The Art of Learning is a translation of Taʿlīm al-Mutaʿallim Ṭarīq al-Taʿallum by Imām Burhān al-Dīn al-Zarnūjī. Written over 800 years ago, this book is a timeless masterpiece on the pursuit of knowledge, self-discipline, and spiritual growth. It remains in use throughout the world today as a source of guidance for students and educators alike to understand and the ethical and spiritual foundations necessary for true intellectual development.

Al-Zarnūjī believed that true learning requires both intellectual effort and spiritual refinement. In this treatise, he emphasizes the ethical and spiritual foundations necessary for true intellectual development. Drawing from the Qur’an, Prophetic teachings, and Islamic tradition, he presents a holistic approach to education that nurtures both the intellect and the soul. The Art of Learning is much more than a manual for ʿilmī success; it is a profound exploration of the principles of ihsan through a discussion of the moral and spiritual responsibilities of seeking knowledge. Al-Zarnūjī reminds us that true learning goes beyond the accumulation of facts and information — it is a lifelong journey of character refinement, humility, and khidma (service) to others.

Though little is known about his life, al-Zarnūjī’s legacy rests primarily on his treatise Taʿlīm al-Mutaʿallim Ṭarīq al-Taʿallum. The work is divided into several chapters, covering key aspects of the educational process, including the merits and purpose of knowledge, the importance of intention, selecting a teacher and companions, respect for knowledge, perseverance, and the spiritual dimensions of learning such as sincerity, humility, and trust in Allah (tawakkul). Due to its comprehensive and concise treatment of the subject, this work is widely considered to be a foundational text in Islamic pedagogy.

The Book of Great Quotes
Book

This book is a timeless collection of wisdom and guidance from the first caliphs of Islam—Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ . Researched and compiled with care, it features their profound sayings on topics ranging from faith, integrity, and patience to leadership, justice, and humility. These teachings offer both Muslims and non-Muslims insights into the values that shaped early Islamic leadership and continue to inspire lives today. Whether you seek moral guidance, personal growth, or a deeper understanding of Islamic principles, this book serves as a beacon of wisdom for readers of all backgrounds.

Review:

“Vehapi presents some of the guidance of four great Islamic personalities, who are greatly significant for Muslims, yet are largely ignored in Western literature. The four caliphs are not regarded as mere historic figures by Muslims; they are considered as relevant today as they were ‘historically.’ Vehapi skillfully compiled some of the teachings of these Islamic symbols in a way that is easy to follow by Muslims and non-Muslims alike. His book is highly commendable.” —Imad M. Bayoun, author of Belief and the Human Mind

“Living with the Final Prophet enabled his close companions to soak up his profound knowledge, something we can do 1400 years later by studying what they learned from him. The Prophet’s deep insights into the mysteries and contradictions of human nature made his spiritual successors unrivaled teachers of wisdom, something that is sorely lacking in today’s troubled world. Flamur Vehapi deserves our thanks for reconnecting us with this priceless wisdom.” —Joel Hayward, author of The Leadership of Muhammad

“An amazing collection of pearls of wisdom … a must read!" —Amber Haque, co-author of Islamic Psychology Around the Globe

“An outstanding compilation of enlightenment and guidance extracted from the wisdom and experiences of the best of the Muslim nation (ummah). The content of this book can serve as a life compass for Muslims and others alike.” —Didmar Faja, author of Echoes of the Prophet

The Book of Great Quotes is more than just the sayings of the early caliphs. It is a superlative synthesis of the very core of Muslim values. It is both succinct and beautiful at once. It is a must read for Muslims and non-Muslims alike that is hard to put down and leaves us wanting more. Vehapi provides us a well documented, easy to read collection of sayings of the first four caliphs of Islam that reminds us what it means to be Muslim." —Brandon Mayfield, author of Grains of Destiny

“A delightful collection full of relevant knowledge and gems of wisdom for our time.” —Naser Bresa, author of Retrospectiva and Alo, Komiteti?

“Beautifully written … an impressively splendid work.” —Salma Ahmad, president of ISGP, Portland, OR

The Nasim: Regarding Congregating & Supplicating Upon Completion of the...
Book

The ‘Nasim’ is a collection of litanies and supplications compiled by Sayyid ‘Abd al-Qadir ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Ali ibn Shihab al-Din, a student of Habib ‘Umar bin Hafiz. These litanies have been traditionally recited in Tarim, Yemen, some for over 1000 years, as part of the congregation of the Khatm of the Qur’an.

With this publication of the Nasim, these powerful and ancient supplications are made available throughout the Muslim world. It is hoped that this publication will allow you, your family, and your community to connect with the blessed traditions of Tarim, and through them to the Prophet ﷺ and his family رضي الله عنهم. It is further hoped that this bilingual edition with transliteration will facilitate such a connection, regardless of whether the reader is well-versed in the Arabic language.

This text contains:

  • Foreword by Habib 'Umar bin Hafiz

  • Evidence for Gatherings of the Khatm of the Qur’ān, and its Benefits and Etiquettes

  • The Schedule of the Gathering of the Khatm

  • The Prayer on Completion of the Qur'an from Imam 'Ali Zayn al-'Abidin

  • The Plea for the Fulfilment of Filial Piety (Du'a Birr al-Walidayn) of Ibn Abi'l-Hubb Al-Hadrami

  • Introductory material and footnotes

In an attempt to unlock the rich eloquence of our master Zayn al-‘Abidin, Sayyid ‘Abd al-Qadir has provided explanatory footnotes that have been retained for the reader of the Arabic text. As for rendering it into English, it was chosen to translate the meanings of the supplications with the aim of keeping the English reader engaged in addressing Allah.

In his foreword, Habib Umar bin Hafiz says,

“Part of connecting oneself to the Truth and to His Messenger is to venerate the noble Qur’an. It (venerating it) is also a cause of increase in the light of faith and certainty, and of purifying the heart of impurities, so that one’s affair and worth may increase before the Most Merciful. Part of venerating the Qur’an, then, is to recite it with excellence, contemplate its meanings and act upon its contents. Also part of venerating it is to cherish its completion, to gather for its completion, and to mark its completion with supplication, humble entreaty and prayer.”

This edition of the Nasim is dedicated to the memory of those killed in the massacre at the mosques of Christchurch, New Zealand. The publishers ask Allah that this work be a gift for the souls of the martyrs and their families.

Al-Khasa’is al-Muhammadiyya [Limited Leather PU Edition]
Book

The science of Khasa'is encompasses the study of the uniqueness of the actions, the attributes, and the essence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, as well as the special gifts given to him, and the special gifts that are given to the Muslim Ummah by virtue of their status as the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ. Knowledge of the Khasa'is is considered to be one of the keys to benefiting from one's relationship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, since his unique aspects provide openings to innumerable blessings.

In the history of Islam, the earliest works in the genre of Khasa'is date from the time of the early Imams and compilers of Hadith. This present work consists of translations of two major works in the genre of Khasais and one supplemental work from three of the great scholars of the Ummah: Bidayat al-Sul fi Tafdhil al-Rasul ﷺ of Shaykh 'Izz al-Din ibn 'Abd al-Salam, as well as Unmūdhaj al-Labīb fi Khasa’is al-Habib ﷺ of Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, and selections from Matali' al-Masarrat li Jala' Dala'il al-Khayrat of Shaykh Muhammad al-Mahdi al-Fasi.

However, in modern times the science of Khasa'is has been neglected, to the point that many Muslims have become unaware of its existence. This present volume is an attempt to rectify this deficiency, to present the Khasa'is to an English-speaking audience in a manner befitting the unique honor, majesty, and significance of Allah's Final Messenger ﷺ. Each page is the result of a collaboration of a world-class team of translators, editors, designers, typesetters, and printers from across four continents, and every detail represents a fusion of traditional knowledge and design elements with state-of-the-art book production methods. The result is a work the like of which has never before been printed in the English language, that is sure to occupy a place of honor in the library or home.

This book will give you:

  • A renewed sense of honor in the unique and distinctive qualities of our Prophet ﷺ and the Ummah of our Prophet ﷺ
  • Deeper understanding of the many traditional names and titles of Allah's Messenger ﷺ and the wisdom, significance, and purpose of each one
  • Increased love for Allah's Messenger ﷺ, attachment to him, and awe of him

Inner Dimensions from the Order of the Surahs in the...
Book

Inner Dimensions from the Order of the Surahs in the Qur'an contains Imam al-Suyuti's unique exploration into the structure of the Book of Allah, and specifically the sequence of its chapters in its complete form, at the conclusion of its revelation to Allah's Final Messenger ﷺ. A consummate master of the Qur'anic sciences, Imam al-Suyuti delves deep into the various reasons behind the order of the chapters (Surahs) in the Qur'an, revealing layers of meaning and intricate interconnections across many levels of language, meanings, context, purpose, and more.

On the effort and research invested in this work, the al-Suyuti writes:

“…since few people have spoken on… this subject, the majority of this text is the result of my own contemplation and borne of my own investigation. However, if I do mention something that someone else has said, I explicitly mention its source, and I only mention that which is accepted, which no one has rejected.”

In this sense, this text feels quite personal, as it provides a glimpse into Imam's immense knowledge and capacious intellect. Imam al-Suyuti's superlative scholarship is unmistakable, as he draws on his knowledge Hadith, Tafsir, history, and the Arabic language to make an extraordinary range of connections and insights.

However, despite the obvious brilliance of its author, this work is also easily accessible to readers of all levels. It is meticulously organized to present a coherent flow of ideas and insight, that allows even beginning students to find benefit. The Surahs of the Qur'an are discussed in order, chapter by chapter, with the chapters themselves maintaining a consistent structure. Imam al-Suyuti provides detailed commentary on the placement of each Surah in relation to what comes before it and what will come after it, and what deeper meanings this particular arrangement might signify. His commentary is rich with references to Hadith, historical contexts, and linguistic analyses. Al-Suyuti also frequently quote the opinions and insights of great scholars of earlier generations, adding depth to the text, and situating his own analyses within the vast corpus of scholarship that came before him.

One of the most striking features of this book is Imam al-Suyuti's method of reflection. He does not merely present facts or traditional interpretations, but also engages in a deep, contemplative analysis that unveils some of the hidden wisdom within the Qur'an's structure. This approach is both scholarly and spiritual, making the work a gem of a read for all. The Imam’s reflections are presented in a manner that invites readers to join him in this contemplative journey, offering a personal and immersive experience of understanding the Qur'an.

Inner Dimensions from the Order of the Surahs in the Qur'an is a comprehensive guide for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Allah's Final Revelation, and will be an invaluable resource for readers, students of Islamic studies, and anyone interested in understanding the Qur'an on a deeper level. Talut Dawood's translation is fluid, faithful to the original text, and retains the depth and subtleties of Imam al-Suyuti's reflections, making Imam al-Suyuti's profound insights accessible to a broader English-speaking audience. This bilingual edition features the original Arabic text and translation in parallel, allowing students who read Arabic to peruse the source text alongside the English.

O Son! A Translation of Imam al-Ghazali's "Ayyuhal Walad"
Print Books

One of the advanced students wrote to the Imam with a question: From all the fields of knowledge, what will benefit us most in the grave? The student clarified that, while he could certainly find the answer to his question within al-Ghazali's longer works, such as the Ihya 'Ulum al-Din, he wished for his teacher to give him a formal legal opinion, short enough that he could keep it with him at all times and refer to it constantly.

Ayyuhal Walad is the great Imam's response: a personal note from al-Ghazali to his student, and by extension to anyone who desires to follow their way. Imam al-Ghazali elucidates the following for his student, and for the modern reader:

  1. The precise nature of the relationship between knowledge and action, and the role of each in one's striving for Paradise

  2. The significance of the night prayer

  3. Some advice from Luqman the Wise to his son, and its enduring meaning and importance

  4. A concise definition of obedience and worship, which al-Ghazali states is the quintessence of knowledge

  5. The four matters that are required of a spiritual traveler

  6. A single hadith that contains the entirety of the knowledge of the ancients as well as the men of latter days

  7. Eight lessons that are sufficient for deliverance and salvation

Ayyuhal Walad is designed to be read and reread, and referred to frequently throughout one's life. The reader must take note that the original recipient of this letter was a top student of Imam al-Ghazali, and therefore a scholar of the highest caliber himself. This book is thus invaluable simply as a record of the interaction between one of the Ummah's greatest teachers and his esteemed disciple. However, al-Ghazali's prescriptions are conveyed with such clarity that any Muslim of high aspiration will benefit from this text.

This edition includes Wordsmiths' meticulous English translation side-by-side with al-Ghazali's original Arabic epistle. This arrangement allows the English-speaking reader to get a taste of al-Ghazali's unique style, while students of Arabic may peruse the Imam's masterful Arabic prose alongside this elegant new English rendition.

The Meanings of the Inimitable Quran: A Lection-Based Rendering in...
Print Books

This is the first integral English translation of the Qur'an that aims to give the lay reader access to the ten canonical, mass-transmitted readings known as the qira’at or lections.

The readings of the Qur'an are one of the windows on the inexhaustible multiplicity of meanings and absolutely unique style that typify the Book of Allah. Such aspects are among the bases on which the Ummah's understanding of its miraculous inimitability is founded.

This work is a rendering of the meanings of the Qur'an based on its celebrated commentary by al-Baydawi (642-691/1244-1292). The discipline of Qur’anic translation is rightly affirmed as one of the well-considered avenues of exegetical renewal. The greatest hope of Qur'an translators is thus the same as that of exegetes: for the Qur'an to pour something of its revelational and sapiential provisions on their endeavours. A faithful interpretation of its meanings therefore aims to ground itself in a trusted tafsir and adhere to its guidelines.

Reports on the Dajjal (Akhbar al-Dajjal)
Book

Hafiz ‘Abd al-Ghani ibn ‘Abd al-Wahid al-Maqdisi's Reports on the Dajjal (Akhbar al-Dajjal) is a collection of Prophetic narrations that mention the Dajjal, known in English as the Antichrist.

The subject of the Dajjal, the Antichrist, is one which generates much speculation, which in turn often leads to confusion. It is hoped that publication of this collection will help to clarify the most important issues related to this matter, and help us to draw lessons that are useful and applicable to our own lives. In turn, this clearer understanding may help us to warn those who are close to us about the great trial of the Dajjal and its dangers, and to take steps to protect our own faith and that of our loved ones.

The majority of this text consists of the hadith themselves, which are given with their full chain of narrators. Citations to the source of each hadith in the major collections are included in the footnotes; where a narration is present in more than one of the major collections, all citations are included. The text also includes light commentary from both the author and translator when appropriate, regarding the hadith itself, its narrators, the strength of its chain, and other points.

This edition includes Arabic text with full vowels, as well as the English translation.

About the Author

Hafiz 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi was originally from the Jamma'il district of Nablus. His origin (al-Maqdisi) is ascribed to Jerusalem, as Nablus and all its districts are considered part of the jurisdiction of Jerusalem. He was most likely born in the month of Rabi' al-Akhir in the year 541 AH/1146 CE.

At an early age, his family moved from Jerusalem to the area of the Abū Salih Mosque just outside the eastern gate of Damascus. Then, they moved again to the foot of Mount Qasioun. There, they built an estate, calling it Dar al-Hanabilah (the Abode of the Ḥanbalis).

The Hafiz had a pious upbringing in Damascus. He began studying and traveling for knowledge, and heard hadiths as well as most of the books from the majority of scholars in Damascus, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Egypt, Baghdad, Harran, Mosul, Isfahan, and Hamadan. His inclination in scholarship was towards hadith.

The Sheikh was known for his worship and his generosity. He was also generous and kind to the students of knowledge. He was of keen intellect and insight and had a light on his face. He used all his time in beneficial matters and did not waste a moment. Some of the scholars said, “No one among Ahl al-Sunnah saw him except that he fell in love with him.”

Hafiz al-Maqdisi passed away in Cairo in the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal in the year 600 AH. He was just under sixty years old. He was buried in the Qarafah graveyard in Egypt.

ﷺ from Makkah to Jerusalem and his ascension to the heavens. This book delves into the intricate details of this journey, presenting a vivid narrative that combines Qur’anic verses, Hadiths, and scholarly interpretations to relate the events of that blessed night. Unlocking Surah al-Fatihah: The Great Beginning
Book

Surah al-Fatihah is the most important Surah in the life of a practicing Muslim. These seven lofty verses appear in the beginning of the Noble Qur'an, weighty in meaning and magnificent in beauty, and are recited at least seventeen times in our daily prayers.

In Unlocking Surah al-Fatihah: The Great Beginning, Dr. Ahmad al-Tijani Thani Saꜥd al-Azhari expounds on the meanings of Surah al-Fatihah to help us gain a deeper understanding of this great surah. This is an original tafsir work comissioned by Imam Ghazali Publishing in partnership with Haykal Publishing.

Shaykh Ahmad describes his approach:

"My methodology in this work is that I first introduce the surah by discussing its main themes, whereafter…I begin with the meanings of each word individually...before moving on to outlining the verse's grammatical structure. Thereafter, I explain the verse's overall meaning, also mentioning any points of rhetoric (balaghah)...I relied upon the major works of exegesis (tafsir).

"My objective in all of this is to present the commentaries of classical imams to people of our time in a manner that is as close as possible to contemporary language style."

Unlocking Surah al-Fatihah provides a window into the true depth of classical scholarship on the Qur'an, through the verses with which we are most familiar. This is a book meant to help renew your sense of wonder at this greatest Surah, to help you marvel at it once more, almost as though you are reading it for the first time.

This edition includes Arabic text and English translation on facing pages.

The Honored One ﷺ (Gems from ‘The Shifa’)
Book

From the work, "Any person who has had any engagement with the topic at hand, or possesses the slightest degree of understanding, will be aware of the great esteem in which Allah Exalted holds our Prophet ﷺ. He singled him out for virtues and qualities too numerous to quantify, and any attempt to do so would exhaust tongues and pens.

We can glimpse the honouring of the Almighty for His Prophet ﷺ from that which is stated in His Book, that which He informs us of his elevated positions, and that which He praises of his character. He encourages His slaves to hold tight to the way of the Prophet ﷺ and to join him in obeying His Commands. Allah ﷻ is the One who favoured His Prophet ﷺ [above all creation], then purified him, then praised him on account of that, and finally rewarded him with the greatest reward. To Him belongs Grace in beginning and returning, and to Him belongs Praise and Gratitude in this world and the next.

He presented His Prophet ﷺ to His creation in the most complete and perfect form, and distinguished him with beautiful characteristics and a praiseworthy manner. He had a noble way and was blessed with innumerable virtues. Furthermore, Allah Exalted supported him with the ability to perform astounding miracles and deliver irrefutable signs. These were witnessed by his contemporaries and Companions and their knowledge was passed down to those who came after them, until the understanding of this reality reached us and we were overwhelmed with his light. May the abundant praise and salutations of Allah be upon our Prophet ﷺ."

Al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā, directly translated as, ‘The Remedy (or Cure) Through Recognizing the Rights of the Chosen One’, is one of the most celebrated works in the genre of Shamā’il. It stands uniquely amongst the works of Qāḍī ʿIyād as his most celebrated effort with many surviving manuscripts and commentaries found throughout the Islamic world. Shamā’il is a genre of works that deals with the life, characteristics, and descriptions of the Prophet ﷺ and his station.

Al-Shifā, as it is called for short, stands alone as perhaps the most thorough work in this genre, dealing with both the descriptions of the Prophet ﷺ, his station and his perfections, and with the rulings pertaining to one’s belief and treatment of him ﷺ. It is exhaustive in its treatment of the subject, expounding on topics that range from Allah’s praise of the Prophet ﷺ and his status and station before Him, to the obligation of loving him and what that entails. In short, the uniqueness of this work can be attributed to its holistic coverage of the Messenger ﷺ.

Selections from the Diwan of Shaykh Salih Al-Ja’fari, Volume 1...
Book
]

The illustrious Imam and erudite scholar of al-Azhar, Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari, authored an extraordinary amount of poetry on many subjects. The Shaykh's poems comprise twelve volumes, which grouped according to their subject matter, ranging from the remembrance and glorification of Allah, advice for the one traversing the spiritual path to Allah, exalting the excellence of the Beloved ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt, and the virtues of the Path’s litanies and salawat.

This book contains selected poems from the first of those twelve volumes. These selections focus on the relationship between the shaykh and murid, as well as the virtues of the spiritual path. These poems were specifically selected by Shaykh Muhammad Salih al-Ja'fari, the grandson of Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari. The core of these selected poems, just as in the shaykh’s poetry overall, are from the genre of what is known as madih (praise poetry), in praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt.

Regarding the methodology of his father, Shaykh 'Abd-al-Ghani al-Ja'fari said the following:

"This door of spiritual openings, which our Shaykh traveled, is a clear opening, and whoever traverses it will arrive, and whoever arrives will be connected, and whoever is connected will see and witness, and whoever has witnessed, has intimate discourse, and becomes acquainted, and whoever becomes acquainted, is guided to the Muḥammadan Reality, thus he multiplies love by love. As he ﷺ has said: 'A man is with the one he loves.'"

These poems are truly transformative, both for the one who recites them and the one who listens, and represent acceptance and invitation to the presence of the Prophet and his household.

This bilingual edition contains the original fully-vowelized Arabic text with an easy-to-read English translation directly following each line, and has been designed for use in regular gatherings of remembrance.

Who is the Prophet Muhammad?
Print Books

The uniqueness of the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ compared to that of other personalities and world figures present and past, is such that his ﷺ legacy has not only remained, but is continually and endlessly on the rise. His ﷺ praise continues to be spread far and wide by men and women whom Allah, exalted is He, has chosen in various times and places to carry the light of the Messenger ﷺ and convey his life ﷺ to the people. This Prophetic legacy is enduring, and will forever remain as long as the testament of faith is upon the lips and hearts of believers.

Who is the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ? is primarily a didactic text in question & answer format. The book consists of 6 groups of questions & answers, progressing from relatively simple questions and short answers in the first group, to more complex issues with longer, more detailed explanations by the end. Each question & answer pair is given first in Arabic, as formulated by Habib 'Umar, or by his students under his supervision. Then, the translation of each Q & A is given. While perhaps not common in adult literature, the Q&A format is a time-honored teaching technique, and readers of all ages and levels will find surprising benefits in this unique text. The entire book has been beautifully arranged and presented by IGI’s world-class design team, to make reading an enjoyable and visually appealing reading experience for the whole family.

The author, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, is a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and is one of the great luminaries of our time. This book has been made available to English speakers for whom we ask Allah to make it a means to attain proximity, in this life and the Hereafter, to Him and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The Story of the Blessed Birth of the Prophet Muhammad...
Book

This brief yet comprehensive work details events connected to the blessed birth of the noble Prophet , beginning with his lineage, and followed by the description of his actual birth. It then moves into a description of Halimah al-Sa'diyyah رضي الله عنها and the intriguing events that led to her being blessed to receive the Prophet ﷺ for nursing, as well as the many blessings that manifested in her, her family, and her livestock due to his blessed presence amongst them, which all led them to the logical conclusion that this boy ﷺ was an extraordinarily blessed soul.

The text also mentions the story of when Jibril عليه السلام visited the Prophet ﷺ whilst he was still a young boy, and washed his heart after splitting his chest. It concludes by describing the Prophet’s sublime attributes and character traits, and his beautiful outer appearance.

This edition includes Arabic text with full vowels, as well as the English translation.

Blackness and Islam
Book

Muslims speak of Islam in egalitarian terms: the religion of peace, the religion that seeks to elevate man over his base desires, the religion that does not discriminate based on race and ethnicity. Despite the egalitarian spirit of Islam, the lived reality of many Muslims is very different, and this is most apparent when we observe how Muslims deal with race and ethnicity.

Muslims who are Black in the West in particular, have found that while Islam may not discriminate based on race, many Muslims do. To make matters worse, some of those Muslims will delve in to the Islamic tradition to justify their biases and bigotries, seeing no contradiction between their racism and the Islamic ideals.

This work seeks to clarify and debunk some traditions which support their racist positions, and presents biographies of early Muslims who were Black. The biographies of these great Muslim personalities shows us how Blackness was a normal part of life for early Muslims, in sharp contradistinction to modern prejudices against Black folks found in some Muslim communities.

“Imam Dawud Walid’s life’s work – in his previous publications, in the present volume and over the decade that I have known him – commends him as a soldier against satanic racism and especially its most perfect historical expression: white supremacy. This volume, by framing a religious response to what must be understood as a satanic spiritual attack, should be widely read and taught.”
