Description from back of book: Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) Who took His slave (Muhammad salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighborhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) of Our Ayat. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. [Surah al-Isra 17:1] The Night Journey and Ascension "are two incidents from the greatest incidents in the noble history of Muhammad (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam)." However the mode of these incidents has been debated over the years: Did they occur in a dream? Was his (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) soul removed and taken to the heavens while his body remained on earth? Or did he ascend in his whole form (body and soul)? Shaykh Ahmad Shakir puts this issue to rest with a thorough review and explanation of the ahadith which have been transmitted regarding al-Isra wa-al-Mi'raj; the different transmissions and the errors in them; and a refutation of those who discount these miraculous occurances as unscientific and therefore untrue.

This treatise is taken from a lecture delivered by the great muhaddith of our times explaining the most basic fundamentals of the noble Salafee call. The lecture itself propounds Salafiyyah in a way that can be understood by the layman. A beginner’s tool such as this is currently not available in print in the English language. In addition to being an introductory guide for the beginner, the book also serves as an intermediate manual in terms of the many explanatory notes and additional appendices included within it.

Such is Allaah, your Lord! Laa ilaaha illaa Huwa [None has the right to be worshipped but He], the Creator of all things. So worship Him [alone], and he is the Wakeel [Trustee, Disposer of Affairs or Guardian]over all things.[Sooratul-An’aam, 6:102]

This monumental, oft-repeated statement, “Laa Ilaaha Ill-Allaah,” in its various forms, is the statement of tawheed which all the Prophets and Messengers were sent to instruct the people with. The Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Give glad tiding to the people that whosoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah alone, without any partners,’ Paradise becomes obligatory for him.” But what does this statement actually mean, and how does knowing and understanding its implications benefit the Believer?

Shaykh Muhammad bin ‘Abdil-Wahhaab al-Wassaabee answers this question by illuminating the reality of saying “Laa Ilaaha ill-Allaah.” He presents a terse, yet rich explanation of this statement, its pillars and its conditions and warns of what nullifies it. He also indicates where this statement appears in the Noble Qur’an and the various ahaadeeth attesting to its importance.

It is imperative that every Muslim, male or female, young or old, to not only reaffirm that Laa Ilaaha Ill-Allaah, but understand its meaning and its implications.

"The creed of ash-Shaafi’ee - may Allaah be pleased with him - and the creed of the Salaf of the Ummah, like Maalik, ath-Thawree, al-Awzaa’ee, Ibnul-Mubaarak (d.181H), Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, and Is-haaq Ibn Raahawayh (d.238H) is the creed of the scholars whom they followed like Fudhayl Ibn ’Iyaadh (d.187H), Aboo Sulaymaan ad-Daaraanee, Sahl Ibn Sa’d at-Tustaree (d.283H), and others. Allaah has warned the believers

"O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire [Hell] whose fuel is men and stones, over which are [appointed] angels stern [and] severe, who disobey not [from executing] the Commands they receive from Allaah, but do that which they are commanded. "

This very important book is designed for children ages 5-12. The author takes a fatherly approach, addressing the children as if they were right in front of him.
