This revised edition is Ideally for 7-8-year old, second or third grade students. The children are in their second or third year in a formal Islamic class. This book builds on the knowledge base of the Level 1 book, with an additional emphasis while introducing the basics of Islam.
All lessons are presented thematically in distinct units. Unit 1 focuses on the Creator and His message. This unit answers questions about Allāh, Islam, faith, and the Qur’ān. Unit 2 covers topics on our Ibadat-focusing on the five-pillars of Islam. Unit 3 covers the stories of some of the Messengers. Unit 4 covers some other topics about Islam that are relevant for students in this age group. An early undertanding of some of the basics of Islam is presented in this unit. Unit 5 describes proper adab and akhlaq learned from the Qur’ān and authentic sunnah of the Messenger (s).
As with the Level 1 book, each lesson begins with a coloring page. The coloring time helps students settle down and be comfortable before the lesson begins. Attention span of children is small; therefore, short paragraphs introduce two or three concepts. This is followed by in-class review section to allow for short break and reinforce learning. Some homework is included in the book, however schools and parents are encouraged to buy a separate workbook that has many more test questions and chapter-based activities.
The Level 4 book is intended for children ages 8–11 who have completed the Level 3 book from Weekend Learning or who have a similar knowledge base of Islam. This is their third or fourth year in a formal Islamic class.

With the ritual duties becoming obligatory to students in this age group, several topics on the Fiqh of sal?t are introduced. The lives of the four Khalifas are covered in greater detail in order to explain their contributions to Islam. Several moral-building lessons are also included.

The Gateway to Arabic Handwriting Book has been written as part of theGateway to Arabic series with students who want to practice their handwriting in mind. This text gives students the opportunity to learn, practice, and acquire proficiency in a fluent style of Arabic handwriting. It is recommended that students should already have completed at least Book One of the Gateway Series and be familiar with the Arabic alphabet before embarking upon this book. Although a number of handwriting styles are used in the Middle East, the style taught in this book, namely ruq'ah, is the most widespread and the easiest to learn.
Compared to the printed style of Arabic, which is termed naskh, ruq'ah offers the advantage of being much quicker to write. The book has been organized so that identical naskh and ruq'ah texts appear on facing pages for ease of comparison and contrast. The first section sets out the letters of the Arabic alphabet in all their forms: initial, medial, final, and isolate. The precise direction and sequence of pen movements for each letter have been clearly indicated through the use of numbered arrows. Having completed the presentation of the alphabet in all its forms, the book then provides the student with the chance to practice copying complete words and phrases, most of which would already be familiar to the Muslim student. A further opportunity for the reinforcement of handwriting skills is given through the copying of selective ayaat (verses of the Qur'an). A translation of these verses is included on the page on which they appear.
In this exercise book, Qur'anic terms and frequently used Qur'anic phrases and expressions are used in 60 lessons designed to teach the writing of Arabic words and sentences, as well as their meanings and message. The material is presented and organized under eight categories of reference that can serve as a little dictionary of some Qur'anic themes.
