All lessons in this book are thematically presented in distinct units. There are total of 6 units and 28 chapters in the book. The Level 1 book introduces students to the fundamentals of Islam. These students have very little or no knowledge about Allah, Islam, the Qur’an, and the Messenger. The lessons in this book attempt to walk students through the basics of Islam. Assuming students have no prior knowledge, the book takes the first step toward formal curriculum-based learning. The goal here is to keep it simple and enjoyable, yet informative. For example, 6 lessons cover the concepts of 5-pillars, 5 lessons cover a short introduction to 5 rasuls and nabis, 9 lessons cover Islamic values and morals.
Each lesson begins with a coloring page. The coloring time helps students settle down and be comfortable in the class before the lesson begins. The attention span of children is small; therefore, short paragraphs introduce two or three concepts. This is followed by in-class review section to allow for a short break and reinforce learning. Some homework is included in the book, however schools and parents are encouraged to buy a separate workbook that has many more test questions and chapter-based activities.
This textbook has been written for the Junior High level. The History of the al-Khilafah ar-Rashidah deals with one of the most important periods of Islamic History. The age of the “Righteous Caliphs” represents an age whose principles embody the model of the Islamic State. Yet this period also saw the Fitnah, a tragic splitting of the Muslim community. This textbook attempts to make this very complex situation understandable to middle schoolers.

The Gateway to Arabic Handwriting Book has been written as part of theGateway to Arabic series with students who want to practice their handwriting in mind. This text gives students the opportunity to learn, practice, and acquire proficiency in a fluent style of Arabic handwriting. It is recommended that students should already have completed at least Book One of the Gateway Series and be familiar with the Arabic alphabet before embarking upon this book. Although a number of handwriting styles are used in the Middle East, the style taught in this book, namely ruq'ah, is the most widespread and the easiest to learn.
Compared to the printed style of Arabic, which is termed naskh, ruq'ah offers the advantage of being much quicker to write. The book has been organized so that identical naskh and ruq'ah texts appear on facing pages for ease of comparison and contrast. The first section sets out the letters of the Arabic alphabet in all their forms: initial, medial, final, and isolate. The precise direction and sequence of pen movements for each letter have been clearly indicated through the use of numbered arrows. Having completed the presentation of the alphabet in all its forms, the book then provides the student with the chance to practice copying complete words and phrases, most of which would already be familiar to the Muslim student. A further opportunity for the reinforcement of handwriting skills is given through the copying of selective ayaat (verses of the Qur'an). A translation of these verses is included on the page on which they appear.
In this exercise book, Qur'anic terms and frequently used Qur'anic phrases and expressions are used in 60 lessons designed to teach the writing of Arabic words and sentences, as well as their meanings and message. The material is presented and organized under eight categories of reference that can serve as a little dictionary of some Qur'anic themes.
