Muntakhab Ahadith

Muntakhab Ahadith is regarded as a highly revered collection of authentic Hadith principally revolving around the Six Qualities of Dawat and Tabligh. It is authored by Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Kandhlawi. Muntakhab Ahadith is classified among the most invaluable books,since it focuses on the fundamentals of principles of Tabligh.

This invaluable work was initially composed in Arabic by Maulana Kandhlawi during the final years of his devoted life and he drowned into his extensive experience and deep scholarly insight. Together with laying down a clear outline, he put together the core maxims, tenets, and safeguards which characterize the noble missionary work of Da'wat and Tabligh.To a great extent, the nature of his efforts makes this book much more than just a compilation. It serves as a practical hand book, or an encyclopedia as it were giving a succinct network of these principles with a cohesive structure of their relative importance. Merely offering spiritual guidance does not feature in its direct objectives, because the text tries to explain how to do Islam, how to involve in the preaching and bring about a good society.

This masterpiece was converted into Urdu by his grandson, Maulana Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi, who, as the author puts it, ensured that the final product does not deviate from the essence or the spirit of the original. Hence, Engish version is done by a board of Islamic scholars ordinary Muntakhab Ahadith, including Mau's new translation.
