As Muslims we are required to believe in previous Prophets and their Scriptures. In the Holy Qur'an we are told that Jesus (Isa) came with the Injil (Gospel). We cannot truly say if this was a book or only a collection of his oral teachings, but we believe he received the Injil. The four Gospels of modern day Christianity include sayings that are contrary to common sense and to the teachings of Isa found in the Holy Qur'an. Thus we must look elsewhere to find a source of Isa's teachings. The long lost Gospel of Barnabas is one such source. Recognized by Muslims the world over, it is a valuable source for comparative religion and the life history and teachings of Isa.
