About The Author

Abdur Raheem Kidwai Professor of English at the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (India) obtained higher degrees in English from both Aligarh Muslim University and University of Leicester (UK). For the last twenty years he has been closely associated with the Islamic Foundation, Leicester in its academic and translation. He has also been visiting Professor, Markfield Institute of Higher Education, the academic wing of the Foundation, in association with Loughborough University, UK. 

He has published extensively on the English translations of the Qur'an, literary Orientalism, English studies and Urdu literature. His forthcoming work under the aegis of the King Fahd Qur'an Complex, Saudi Arabia is a massive bibliography and critical analysis of the English translations of the Qur'an.
